Welcome to Youth Volunteering Warrington! We advise and support young people aged 16-25 to get involved in volunteering. We also recognise their achievements and commitments. We help to find young people volunteering placements that suit their needs and interests and support them through their experience! There are opportunities that require a few hours commitment per week, fun projects over the holidays, one-off placements and longer-term volunteering opportunities.
There are a number of awards that you can gain through volunteering with Youth Volunteering Warrington.

v offer awards to celebrate the efforts and achievements of young people. If you volunteer, even as a one-off, you will receive a vthank you certificate. You will also get the chance to work towards a v50 award (for 50 hours) and a vImpact award (for 100 hours) if you would like to volunteer longer-term. You will receive a log book and folder to help you keep track of your volunteering activities and record the skills you have gained. Certificate in Community Volunteering
Build up a written portfolio about your volunteering experience and gain an ASDAN award. You can complete the short course over 10 hours or take it a bit further and complete the full course equivalent to a GCSE.
Expressive Arts Award
This 10 hours course is aimed at volunteers involved in community arts, producing a personal development plan and reflective learning about your creative volunteering experience.

Will I need a CRB check to volunteer? That depends on the type of volunteering you do. If you volunteer with vulnerable people, such as older adults or children, you will normally need a CRB check. The organisation that you volunteer with will organise this for you.
Will I receive travel expenses for volunteering? Most organisations will provide travel expenses to and from your volunteering placement. For more information contact the Youth Volunteering Team.
I have work and college commitments, can I still volunteer? Yes of course. You choose how many hours you can commit to each week. Most organisations are flexible and will work around you.
Can I volunteer with my friends? Many places can take several volunteers at a time. The art projects that we offer are decided by groups of young people and are a fun way of volunteering with your friends.
How can I volunteer overseas? There are many organisations that organise volunteering placements overseas. For more information about volunteering overseas email the Youth Volunteering Team.
How do I start volunteering? f you are interested in volunteering, just get in touch with us, the contact details are on the website. We will normally ask you to come into our office to meet with a member of the Youth Volunteering Team. That way we can get to know you and discuss the kind of volunteering which would suit you best.
